When someone says to stop reading and go to bed, and it's just unfair:

I'm going to read a book today in honor of Beverly Cleary!

She just turned 102! And Cleary used to live near us here in Portland, Oregon. It was here that she wrote about "Drop Everything And Read" day (D.E.A.R.) in RAMONA QUIMBY, AGE 8.

I'm excited to go to an author reading tonight!

My friend Doug alerted me to this cool classroom where readers get to get into their very own boats to read. What a great bunch of gulls and buoys! After seeing this, I went down to the Container Store to "try on" some boats for size, but they kicked me out.
