So THAT'S how Americans abroad are seen!
This seems about right. I'm large, hairy, unkempt, barefoot— hey, wait a minute. I'm not a ginger!

No smorking? I'm out of here.
Mark Frauenfelder took his family to Harajuku, Japan, which is where he saw this sign.

What Kind of Students Go Here?
Dang, this is two school-related items in a row. Uncool!
Anyway, Pansy Kidd Middle School is a real place in Poteau, Oklahoma. It's named for Pansy Kidd, a very nice woman who did a lot for education in the area.
But even so, the Pansy Kidd M.S. mascot seems to be trying a little too hard to make up for any perceived sissiness!

He's Not Picking Up Litter
Unexpectedly Bart! usually has a zero-tolerance stance on alcohol-related items. But when I saw that the Romanian town of Pecica has installed ten of these signs, I knew it was time to take a stand.
The problem that Pecicans have is that its residents tend to drink too much and then crawl into the street, creating a traffic hazard.
Really.
And according to this story, the mayor of the town feels the signs make a "positive contribution" to the problem.
Really!?
